Our team had a great day of ministry yesterday on the streets of uptown Charlotte.
One woman in particular caught my attention so I went over and spoke with her and then prayed with her. She seemed to really appreciate it. Then for the next three hours she walked around chugging down a bunch of beers but never lost her composure. Unbelievably she come to me with a devotional in which she had written ‘does God really hear my prayers’ in addition she asked ‘if God knows what I’m going to say, why should I pray?’ I explained that one of the reasons we should pray is to demonstrate our reliance on God. I went on to explain there is no continuum of time with God as he is omnipresent. He is concurrently present in the past, in the present and in the future therefore he knows what we are going to say but it’s still our choice! She replied “I never thought of that!”
Please with us for Jordan, that God would continue to raise questions leading her to a relationship with Jesus Christ for her good and his Glory!
Do they see King Jesus alive in me and working among our team? What are the traits of one who claims, ‘my God is King?’ Galatians lists them out for us; Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control.
Dear God, help us, help me to live out this claim, ‘my God is King’, King over the day, the year, King over my entire life in all that I say and do… that others may be drawn to our Savior, King Jesus! Amen
