Ka-razzzy good day at Showers To The People, Inc. in uptown CLT! We arrived on site at 7:27AM, 35 degrees, wind blowing… winter storm on the way! One of our team members was so excited to be back, he was there 45 minutes early! Other team members arrived by 730AM, pitched in and unloaded the truck and the shower trailer and began the setup process. 5 bottles of propane. 6 big tubs of clothing. PB&J sandwiches. Electrical cords. Propane heaters. 2 tents with walls. chairs for admin and patrons. Made 5 gallons of hot chocolate. Set up admin tables. Set up hot chocolate table. And on and on..

Patrons begin sign up and then people came out of nowhere! Patrons, a family of five wondering what was going on! Two men from close by uptown apartments brought blankets to give out. Another man came by promising to return next serve day with food! Sat with patrons. Prayed with patrons.

It seems to me God is showing this ministry favor. We are not there to restore someone’s dignity – we are there to share the love of Jesus Christ in action and in word. I pray God’s protection over each of our homeless friends… for their good and for the glory of God alone!
